Fritz Holznagel
An Emmy winner, Jeopardy! champ, and former Googler, Fritz Holznagel has been a writer for over 30 years. He was part of Google’s writing team in its early years and has written for high-tech start-ups and sturdy old banks, for the Dictionary of American History, and for the learning game “Where in the USA is Carmen Sandiego?” He won the Emmy Award as a writer of the CBS animated special “A Claymation Easter,” and is the author of the books Secrets of the Buzzer and The Ultimate Droodles Compendium. In the Internet Age, Fritz has written helpful how-tos and FAQs, site reviews and product pitches, sales emails and case studies, web page copy and ad taglines, and a million punchy memos.
In 8 Letters or Less, Fritz shares the inside secrets to great writing that he’s learned in that long career. Fritz is also the winner of the 1995 Jeopardy! Tournament of Champions and represented the U.S. in the 1996 Jeopardy! Olympic Tournament. A product of Oregon’s fresh air and ocean breezes, Fritz graduated from Willamette University with a degree in history. He now lives near Boston with his wife, Julie, and a yard full of wild rabbits.
